Auditor urges Tories to stop ‘factually inaccurate’ advertising

The Toronto Star May 17, 2019

While the Ford Government may at some point in their term restore the Auditor General's authority to approve and reject government ads based on partisanship and accuracy, they haven't done so in the past year and have chosen to run multiple anti-carbon tax ads that would not have passed muster under that original law. Now the Auditor General herself has stated that these ads would not be acceptable. In view of this, the spirit of the promise and the flagrant disregard to it, it's being considered as broken.
